2 A message for Dads
Obviously, the moment I have 'freedom' from parenting duties I miss my children. These things were on my all morning on the first day.
Tell your child you love them
and why.
Be specific
Tell them all the things they do that fill you with emotion.
Don’t be shy.
Tell them about your emotions with all the language you have.
It’s OK if you don’t have much, you’ll learn more along the way.
Let them tell you what they need.
It will almost never align with that you need,
but that’s fine.
It’s their time now.
Sit on the floor with them.
Crawl and jump with them.
Pretend with them.
You used to be a kid, once.
Remember it and share it with them.
Involve them in your morning routine.
Teach them how to care for themselves by showing them how.
Talk about their mother in way that shows them you made the right choice.
Tell them that you’ll be there to listen
and then be there to listen.
Make time for yourself, when you can.
But bring them with you too.
Tell them that you love them and then love them.
