8 Snippets of somewhere that doesn't exist
This is a collection of ideas that came to me while I was walking around the Botanic Gardens.
- A pond halfway up a mountain. It’s made by a natural spring. It is lush and green, surrounded by the dead grey of the stony mountain. The Minotaur drinks heartily from it.
- The threshold of the forest. The Man is filled with wonder. The Bull is filled with zeal. The Rat is filled with opportunity. The lizard is filled with fear.
- A small shack made of logs and stones at the base of the mountain before the forest. The hermit who lives here cannot speak.
- The wasteland of the valley is littered with ruins of the past: houses, factories, sporting fields, airports. They’re all out there.
- A nuclear bunker in the mountains. Unopened.
- Glowing yellow eyes are seen through underbrush in the forest.
- Deranged bots losing touch with reality.
- Nomadic musicians with handmade instruments play songs from the old times.
- The Tower. Brilliantly reflecting sunlight off its glass exterior.
- The Bibliotecs scouting in the mountains. Illusive, swift, and dangerous.
- Bullmen shamans communing under the full moon. The wind gifting them with acknowledgement.
- Rodenti warbands attacking a caravan of traders.
- Jasyyk the Varani Headhunter.
